23 Things Complete
This is it. I've completed all 23 Things. It's been interesting and I never would have taken a look at Scoop.it or StumbleUpon if not for the program. I'm not a person who finds it necessary to use any of these "tools" in my personal life. I have Facebook and Twitter accounts only because of a PD day training session 4 years ago and I hadn't looked at Twitter since then until it was part of 23 Things. Pinterest is a very cool site but there's so much to look at that time passes very quickly and before you know it hours have gone by. I'll be interested to see how long it takes for a memo to come telling people we're banned from using these sites during working hours.
Sheree Fitch recently deleted her Facebook account because it was interfering with her work and her personal relationships. I think she's wise to recognise that and we should all strive to keep things in perspective. Having said that, I'll keep my Facebook and Twitter accounts because its fun to look at what other people are posting from time to time.
23 Things has given me better insight into why and how people become so obsessed with their phones and mobile devices. There's a party going on all the time and if you're not connected you're left out. I've learned that I'm OK with that. I have a great family and friends and a job I enjoy. I'm happy to know that these sites are available to me should I ever feel the need to use them. I'll display my 23Things certificate proudly.
